If you’re familiar with our plan Farm 640-Heritage, you’ll see where this farm house fits in in our portfolio. We’ve expanded all of the spaces and added a loft and a flex room. While Farm 640 fills the need for a stylish farm house under 1000 square feet, Golden does the same under 2000 square feet. The exterior of the home features rustic, natural materials, a timeless roof line, and comfortable outdoor living spaces at the front AND rear of the home. Inside the home, you’ll find that every space has been thoughtfully placed to maximize livability and flow. You’ll enter the home at the kitchen, which looks out over the open living and dining rooms.

We’ve had tons of success with plans like our Farm-640, and we’ve decided to take all of the requested add-ons from that plan and roll them into a brand new rustic barn house plan we’re calling “The Answer.”

The moment you enter the front door, you’ll know you’re in a special home. A sensible foyer welcomes you with a coat closet and the utility room, and then opens up on the right to the kitchen. This kitchen offers tons of counter space and a large central island. The great room lies just beyond the kitchen, and boasts a vaulted ceiling, a fireplace with built-ins, and sliding door access to the covered rear outdoor living space. The dining room sits just off the great room, with the staircase to the upper floor and optional basement on the right wall.

The main bedroom is on the main floor as well, and sits at the back left corner, behind the great room. This bedroom includes a nice walk-in closet, vaulted ceiling, and a fully featured bathroom (side by side sinks, wide counter, and a full sized tub/shower). As a bonus, this bedroom gets private access to the outdoor living space. Rounding out the main floor is a second vaulted bedroom on the front side of the home. Upstairs, you’ll get a huge vaulted bonus room and a small loft that would be perfect for an upstairs office. There’s also a powder room just off the loft.

Two Story Barn House Plan with Easy Living Floor Plan

The rustic, charming farmhouse style has taken complete hold of the country’s design eye. This two story barn house plan is no different, and offers a comforting, warm exterior paired with an easily maintained and perfectly sized floor plan.

This home utilizes a rear entry garage and a small front facing c0vered patio, so our tour will start at the back of the floor plan. As you enter the home, a short foyer gives way past a hall closet to a semi open main living space. A fully featured U-shaped kitchen sits just beyond the garage/to the left of the dining room, which helps to keep the food prep separate from the gathering spaces. Gathering kitchens have become very popular, but there are still many who prefer the more traditional model of a more separated kitchen. The other big feature of the first floor is the private main bedroom suite. This suite gets lots of light thanks to its corner position and large sets of windows.

The upper floor houses all of the rest of the bedrooms. Up the stairs, you’ll first see the utility room, conveniently located for easy access for all upstairs rooms as well as the main floor suite.
