Portland, Ore – April 11, 2007 – Local home design firm, Mark Stewart Home Design was recently selected to design a home for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, airing Sunday, April 22nd at 8:00 p.m. on Oregon’s ABC affiliate KATU network.

Mark Stewart Home Design was the first ever to partner with the primetime network television show to design a home. The four bedroom, three and a half bathroom, nearly 4,000 square foot Prairie-style home was designed pro bono for the Westbrook family in Lawton, Okla.

The Westbrook family is recovering and coping with an injury that occurred during Mr. Westbrook’s tour in Iraq, leaving him without the use of his legs.

“Mark Stewart’s design was a great hit,” said Ron Nance, builder for the Lawton, Oklahoma Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project. “The home is beautiful and phenomenally functional for the Westbrook’s needs. We were told over and over by the cast and crew that this was their favorite home.”
