Missing Middle Design Award

Mark Stewart Wins PDX Main Street Design Award

Last Thursday on April 11, Mark Stewart was honored to receive the award for best “Missing Middle” design for the house plan “Lisac,” recently built at 1106-1145 SE Lincoln Street in Southeast Portland. The term “Missing Middle”  is used to designate housing complexes that are no larger than a large home and that provide diverse housing choices in neighborhoods with mostly single family homes.

Lisac House Plan

The plan itself is a timeless design, and features six comfortable three-bedroom, two-bathroom homes. Units 1 and 4 at the rear of the building are the same floor plan as the units in front of them, but have slightly larger bedrooms and great rooms. The four units at the front of the building are 893 square feet while the two rear units are 1100 square feet.
